Why should I have my home professionally cleaned?

Simply put, your home is an investment, -likely one of your most significant. As such, it needs to be maintained and serviced like any quality asset. McGuire’s Cleaning Service offers house cleaning service, carpet and upholstery cleaning, tile/grout cleaning and grout sealing, window cleaning, and gutter cleaning services to ensure your home is well-maintained and safe for your family. Who supplies the cleaning materials?

Our staff is equipped with all the necessary cleaning tools and supplies to provide excellent, quality service. If you prefer any specific brands or cleaning supplies (granite polish, stainless steel cleaner, lemon oil), we ask that you let us know your preference in advance, and provide the specific product for our staff to use for you.

Do I have to be home? How will you get in if I’m not?

No, it is not necessary for you to be home when we service your house. In fact, many of our customers are not present when we clean. If you anticipate being out for all or part of your cleaning, we ask that you please make arrangements with the office prior to your service so the team is clear on what to do upon their arrival/departure. Many customers provide either a spare key, or special alarm code to be securely held within our office lock box so that the technicians may have access to your home only for your scheduled appointment.

When will you be at my home? For how long? What if you are late?

We will call you 24 business hours in advance to confirm your scheduled cleaning time. Please understand that we give an approximate arrival time within a 2 hour window (ex: 9am-11am). McGuire’s may need to adjust the arrival time as a result of unforeseen circumstances (inclement weather or employee call outs). You will be notified prior to the original quoted time if this should happen.

For the majority of ongoing cleaning customers with average sized homes (2,300 square feet or less) a cleaning team of 2 will require between 1-3 hours. This time can of course vary significantly depending on the size and specifics of an individual home. How many people will clean my home? Can I request a cleaner?

McGuire’s professionally trained staff has years of quality experience. For efficiency we typically send a team of two or three cleaners to each home. We welcome you to request a specific cleaner or team, and we always do our best to accommodate preferences.

What if I have pets?

We are a pet friendly cleaning company! Let us know any important facts about your furry family members (The cat will dart out if the door is left open, the dog is friendly and his treats are in the tin on the counter etc.) If your pet is either not friendly, or can excitable and will impede the staff while they work, McGuire’s technicians may ask you to confine your pet to a designated area for all or part of your service. This way we can do our job safely and efficiently, and provide you with the best service possible. Ask about our green cleaning products: safe for pets and children!

Do the cleaners expect a tip?

Whether or not to tip is largely a matter of personal preference. Our cleaning staff receives a fair wage and do not expect to be tipped. However, tips for a job well done are always very appreciated by the staff. It has been our experience that the majority of clients will tip for large one-time, move-in/out, or post construction cleaning services. Many ongoing cleaning service clients choose to tip at each cleaning, while others tip a larger amount just once a year around the holidays.

Do I have to do anything in my home before the cleaners arrive?

In order for our team to give you the best quality cleaning service, we kindly ask that you take a few moments to tidy and pick up important documents, clothes, and other personal items to make your home accessible to the team. This allows us to thoroughly clean your home from top to bottom rather than spending the time on tidying up. For example, as a courtesy the staff will clean a couple dishes if left in the sink, but if the sink is packed full of dishes this takes away valuable time the team could actually spend cleaning your kitchen. Often the team has 2-3 other homes in a given day and they are on a tight schedule. If they encounter a home that is not picked up prior to their arrival, they may not be able to finish the house within their scheduled time frame.

Who do I speak with to make / change an appointment or to inquire about rates & services?

Our company is a small, family owned business specializing in quality and detailed care. We make sure you have direct communication with our business owner Karen who is happy to answer any specific questions about rates or services. If you simply need to change or cancel an appointment, our office staff is always happy to assist.

What if something is damaged or broken by a cleaner?

We will contact you if something in your home is broken or damaged during the cleaning process. We do ask that you secure or put away any very delicate or sentimental items to prevent any unnecessary accidents from occurring. Hiring an insured company provides you peace of mind knowing that we will take responsibility for damages caused by any of our employees.

Do you offer discounts and contracts?

McGuire’s offers a 10% discount on  any additional professional services (gutter, carpet, window or tile cleaning) to any of our ongoing house cleaning customers. We offer a 10% Senior Citizen Discount and regularly administer seasonal coupons & promotions. Furthermore, customers who take advantage of our weekly house cleaning contracts will have access to our discounted weekly pricing. Customers that take advantage of our referral program also receive a $25 additional discount per completed referred booking. We provide many ways to save!

What is your cancellation policy?

In order to ensure our guaranteed service, we must maintain a schedule that can provide quality and efficiency. A minimum of two business days (48 hour) notice of a cancellation and/or schedule change is required. If a client fails to provide adequate notice, they will be responsible for 100% of the service price. This policy also extends to “lock outs” if we are unable to access your home during the time of your scheduled appointment. This policy is considered on a case by case basis, as we do take into account special circumstances such as family emergencies and first time cancellations.
